The Drood Inquiry

Mr Lobley is a “jolly-face man, with tawny hair and whiskers, and a big red face”, said to be the “dead image of the sun in old wood-cuts”. A faithful follower of Tartar, having served under him, Lobley assisted Tartar on an excursion on the river with Rosa Bud and Mr Grewgious. He has not been known to have ever visited Cloisterham, nor to have any direct relationship with its residents beyond Miss Bud.
